Thirteen is usually an unlucky number but not when it comes to the Pinball Bash. Pinball Bash XIII was another success as 30 competitors vied for prizes and medals on twenty one vintage pinball machines from the 60s, 70s, and 90s. And one lucky fellow actually won a 1972 Williams Spanish Eyes pinball!
There were 4 rookies among the contestants, and rookies Joe and Jeff each won a medal for high score on a game. Rich, Kelly, and Shawn also took home their first medals of their young careers. The high score hardware was a medal this year as opposed to the trophies of past tournaments, and they were spread out amongst the participants. Dave and Kelly each won two, and Jason and Alan took home the MVP awards with the maximum three medals each!
Kevin M. took home the first annual Rich Schuerman Award honoring the late pinball enthusiast who passed away this last summer. The award will be given each year to the player who embodies the enthusiasm, the laughs, and the fun that Rich brought to the party. Kevin was a fitting winner! Shaun was the big winner of the evening taking home a medal and the Spanish Eyes machine!
And to no one’s surprise Steve won Pinball Technician of the Year. Steve has 45 years of experience working on pins and is always doing whatever he can to make the party a success, including making some yummy treats. He has won this award four years in a row! Talk about a dynasty!
