The fourteenth annual Pinball Bash was another success as this mid-winter pinball fest lived up to its advance billing! 21 pinball machines, dating from the early sixties up to the present, combined with over 30 competitors vying for trophies, prizes, and cash created a fun and raucous environment. Jersey Jack Pinball was once again kind enough to donate some t-shirts and prizes. There was also the usual assortment of beer and snacks to keep the crew in top shape.
A big addition to this year’s lineup was a new Stern Batman 66, based on the popular television show. It proved to be one of the most popular machines on the night along with a Chicago Coin Homerun and a Williams Gridiron.
The competition was fierce this year with only a handful of players winning multiple medals. There were 16 individual award winners. Rookie Jeff picked up a medal. And Kevin picked up his first, as did Don, Randy, Cris, and Shawn. John had been shut out for a few years and managed to sneak back into the winners circle. Dwight was the evening’s surprise as he won two medals and also picked up the Rich Schuerman Memorial Award.
Dan T. had a great evening as he garnered two medals and was the winner of the cash grand prize of $300!
Steve again won the technician award that celebrated his over 40 years of pinball maintenance and upkeep. He and Tom were compared to a Nascar pit crew as they scurried about attending to minor problems throughout the evening. Steve’s pinball knowledge is unmatched in the Inland Northwest. Without him and Tom this party would not be possible.
Tom Y. was the MVP of the evening as he took home another three medals! He has proven himself to be one of the most consistent players over the last half dozen parties. Alan was also right there in the mix with another two.
This was another great event and a good time was had by all. Congratulations to all attendees and especially the winners.
